Family-operated Business
Xiao Family Farm is a family-operated business that has been flourishing for over two decades.
The farm’s inception traces back to 1998 when Guoping Xiao, a former professor at UBC, initiated a mushroom cultivation business. This venture eventually evolved into the established farm in 2000.
When tradition meets Innovation
Xiao Family Farm is a unique blend of tradition and innovation, where a variety of gourmet and medicinal mushrooms are cultivated. Starting from scratch, the farm faced numerous challenges, including securing capital, building operations, and navigating city hall regulations. Despite these obstacles, the commitment to mushroom cultivation and the drive to make the venture profitable prevailed. Over the years, involvement in the farm has extended to the next generation.
